A great area to explore by bike
Some of our favourite places to ride
Castlewellan Trails

With green, blue and red grade trails (including black options) Castlewellan is a must-visit for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities.
Tollymore Skills Course

Something a bit different – This skills course has approximately 1.5 km of single track trail, with a wide range of features, including rollers, berms, drop-offs, table tops, rock sections, Northshore and log rolls.
Rostrevor Trail Centre

With a mouth-watering 27km red trail and a hair raising 19km black trail Rostrevor is believed by many to be the top spot for mountain biking in Ireland.
With 2 purpose-built downhill trails, Rostrevor is a mountain bikers’ haven!

My favourite mountain bike ride
Castlewellan
“I love all of the mountain bike trails around the Mournes, but I especially like the trails at Castlewellen. You get great views of the mountains and some of the green trails are suitable for us to use as a family and perfect for a family day out adventuring”

We visited Spelga House and thought the accommodation was fantastic. It was big, clean & very comfortable. The location was really unique and it was great being so close to the Dam. I’d highly recommend staying here with friends or family. We also did the Land Rover Adventure tour up Pigeon Mountain and had a ball. Edward was a great tour guide. You won’t be disappointed. Great fun!

No one wanted to leave! We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, it’s perfect! Thanks, Kathryn for having us.
